Helping Keep the Independent Broker, Independent!

 Donna Wood

EXPERIENCE - I have been selling real estate on a full-time basis since May of 1975, 43 years. I have experienced many and various market and financial changes since 1975. The price of a good starter house was $20,000 and interest rates were 9% back then. Interest rates have gone up to 18% and back down to under 6%. The price of a good starter house is now around $500,000 depending on location, and interest rates under 5%.  I feel prepared for anything!

BUSINESS - I bought Cornerstone Real Estate in April of 2000. I have grown tremendously and in numerous areas by owning and running an independent real estate company. Being a business owner was a very exciting and rewarding way to learn about business.  In July of 2012, I was introduced to Adamas Realty.  I decided to simplify so I closed Cornerstone Real Estate and became a broker for Adamas Realty. During Easter 2017, the resurrection of Cornerstone Real Estate began! I am thrilled to announce Cornerstone Associates Real Estate of which I am the Designated Broker/Owner.

EDUCATION - I graduated from Ballard High School. Since then, I have taken various banking and real estate college classes. I sat for the real estate broker's exam and obtained my broker's license. In 1999, I decided to formally attend college. When I bought Cornerstone Real Estate I postponed college. I regularly take continuing education for real estate.

PROFESSIONAL AFFILIATIONS Cornerstone Associate Real Estate is a member of the Board of Realtors, NWMLS, and The NW Independent Broker’s Association. I am an Accredited Staging Professional and a Senior Real Estate Specialist.

HOBBIES - Most recently I walk Greenlake and do yoga. I have done triathlons, which consist of swimming, cycling and running. Swimming became my favorite of the three. I have a passion for dancing. My favorite is Cha Cha Cha, and Salsa. I will dance to almost anything. I enjoy riding my bicycle. I rode on STP (Seattle to Portland ride) four years in a row--1994-1997. I enjoy gardening, and last but definitely not least, I love being a mother to my 30-year-old son and my 33-year-old daughter, as well as grandmother to my 3-year-old grandson and 1-year-old granddaughter!  I feel extremely fortunate and blessed where my children and grandchildren are concerned.

My Specialties

I really love helping first-time buyers!

I have a lot of experience in negotiating move up buyers as well. What to do first? Do you buy first? Sell first?

I also have a lot of experience in getting buyers offers accepted in this crazy Seattle market!

And I am really good at preparing your house for sale in order to obtain top dollar which also translates into "flipping houses".
